Thomas Laigle LIVE // m-O-m

Der Automat begrüßt den französischen Klangkünstler Thomas Laigle für eine neue Komposition der immersiven Klangperformance m-O-m, die der Künstler seit 2018 fortentwickelt.

m-O-m umfasst den Raum als Ganzes als ein Versuchsfeld für die Übertragung von Lichtreizen in individuellen Klang. Das Publikum ist Teil des Set-ups und wird Nachbar verschiedener Lichtquellen und -duschen, die über künstlichen Nebel in den Raum verlängert werden.
Die Performance arbeitet entlang verschiedener analoger Devices, die Klang und Licht in Echtzeit interagieren lassen, gespeist von den magnetischen Schwingungen vor Ort.

Automat warmly welcomes Berlin-based installation and sound performance artist Thomas Laigle who is going to embrace the space with an audiovisual performance that captures magnetic vibrations to embed them into a sound/light environment, the artist is creating live guided by the idea to transfer light emission into sound.

The piece „m-O-m“ is an ongoing hybrid project between installation and concert that gets into dialogue with the space it occupies while viewers and listeners are being worked in the process when being surrounded by different light sources and light-washing fog that connect architecture and installative set-up with them sensorily and physically.

The artist summarizes the work as his „most emblematic performance, somewhere between electronic music concert and a DIY installation. With microphones that pick up magnetic vibrations and effects pedals, the parasites produced by selected light bulbs become the rhythm of a technoid music. This real-time analogue sound processing device becomes a synaesthetic installation that immerses the audience in a multi-sensory space.“
